In 1983, Scott Bechhold and Sam MacNeill were coworkers in a local cabinet shop and felt they had a better way to make high-quality, more affordable custom cabinetry. Excited to branch out on their own, they set up shop in a small barn on the property of Scott’s parents, in Durham, California. During those early years, Sam and Scott were among the first to integrate computer aided design programs into their manufacturing. Through their labor and investments in technology, they worked their way into the present home of Oak Ridge Cabinets, a 25,000 square foot metal building complex on the southern fringes of Chico, California.
